Dr. James Meernik is Professor of Political Science at the University of North Texas and Associate Editor of International Studies Quarterly. He is also Chair of the Department of Political Science. Dr. Meernik specializes in research on U.S. foreign policy and international criminal tribunals. His research has been published in International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Criminal Law Review, and the American Journal of Political Science. He is also author of The Political Use of Foreign Military in U.S. Foreign Policy (Ashgate Press) and co-editor of Conflict Prevention and Peace Building in Post War Societies, with Professor T. David Mason (Routledge Press). Dr. Meernik received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University in 1992.
