Email Dr. James S. Corum

James S. Corum is a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and served in Iraq in 2004. He was a visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford University in 2005 and is currently a professor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Dr. Corum is the author of four military history books: The Roots of Blitzkrieg, 1992; The Luftwaffe: Creating the Operational Air War,1997; The Luftwaffe’s Way of War, with Richard Muller, 1998; Airpower in Small Wars, with Wray Johnson, 2003. His most recent book, Quelling the Beast: A Counterinsurgency Strategy for America, is being published by Zenith Press in 2006. He has authored dozens of book chapters and journal articles on military history and counterinsurgency. Dr. Corum holds an M.A. from Brown University, M. Litt. from Oxford University, and a Ph.D. from Queen’s University, Canada.
