DR. TINAZ PAVRI is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she teaches courses in Comparative Political Systems, African Diaspora and the World, Japan in Asia, and Conflict Resolution and Human Rights. Her B.A. and M.A., both in Political Science, are from St. Xavier’s College Bombay and Ohio University, respectively. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science, with a specialization in International Relations, from The Ohio State University in 1994. Dr. Pavri’s areas of expertise are conflict resolution, nationalism, and security studies, while her geographical area of focus is South Asia. She has published recent articles on India-Pakistan negotiations and the question of national identity. Dr. Pavri played a major role in bringing the present conference to fruition and served as Moderator for Session II.
